Fetch content from web site with http authentification

Does anyone have a script that will login to a site that uses http authentification and can extract data from the site.

Basically I want to login to an e*trade or scottrade account automatically and download my stock value and quantity.

I can write the code to extract which tables I need once I have a script that can login to the secure site and fetch the contents of the page.

I can't say that I've heard of a script specifically for those services, but If you are an able and persistant coder (which I'm sure you are), then use snoopy =]..
