Invisible comment text for articles

Text in comment is invisible (ctrl+a to see the text). Could someone fix that please (not really a request, but more of a bug because it shouldn't be like that in the first place.)

I've also seen this in the printable version of the article 'File Version Management in PHP'. FYI

Gary, this is fixed, right? We've been reformating articles and I accidentally added a class that stepped on another. I fixed that issue on Fri, and I think it's the same one.

If it's still causing a problem for you, which OS and browser are you using?

Yes and no. It looks good in IE on both Windows and Mac but it still does it in Firebird .7 WinXP. It might be Firebird, not sure. I've attached a screen print of the issue. I've highlighted some text so you can see that some text is hidden.

I also notice that some text at http://www.phpbuilder.com/columns/dhar20040108.php3?print_mode=1 is still white/invisible.

Up in the search form on that page there is a dangling open tag reading

which gets propagated down over the article. In fact, there are 193 tags in the page, but only 189 tags.

(According to my HTML validator, that page scores 104 warnings and 4 errors. When is vB3 coming out? 🙂)

vB 3 is already out - do you mean the Gold release? 😃

Not sure if that is part of vB is it? I thought that it was only the forum that was, with the rest coded by Tim Perdu.

You've pretty much summarized the whole issue. I'm trying to bring the site up to XHTML and 508 compliance. Unfortunately I can't validate it fully to XHTML because some of the code that is fed from other places is barely HTML 3.

I'm laying the site out with divs and classes now, so once this can of worms is sealed, it should be better for everyone, all the way around.

Yah, only the board is vB driven. Everything else is coded originally by Tim and in parts by several other people.

The whole backend is slated to be rewritten. I have a pending arrangement for a dev server to be set up so I can move forward with it.

The ultimate plan is to go with Sablotron parsed XML/XSLT, but there are some server side issues right now that prevent us from setting up Sablotron.
