vpn for linux server

I was searching for more information about setting up VPN, but i'm really confused now. Could someone please help me out on this, b'cos i'm new to VPN.

This is what i want to do:

I want to setup a VPN service between two branch offices through a linux server (Redhat 9.0). All the workstations runs on Windows 2000. So that users in the other office can access the Linux server in my office to get information. Both the offices are using ADSL connections.

Can someone please guide me how to do this or give me a direction where i can find information on setting up a VPN on linux server which can be accessed by a windows user.

VPN is no easy thing to setup. Check Cisco's website. They have a good setup for VPN, which we use. It's not cheap though...

Thanks for your response LordShryku, but i'm not looking for a Cisco VPN services which i know i am talking about great deal of money. But when i went through lot of forums for vpn services i see lot of people did VPN themselves by using OpenVPN, PopTop and other open source VPNs available. I want to know more about that. If you or anyone else have information about that or did something similar facing a similar situation. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

The only way to create VPN is spending money?
