I recommend buying a book and start learning, and you can of course come here and get help...
in fact I can point to a book that would be really good because it gives you several systems to use and customize, content management, forum, news, store, etc.

purple/white book roughly 900 pages with a cd... VERY good book, I have yet to get enough discipline to read cover to cover I've mostly just jumped from what i needed to copying what they give you off the cd and making it work for my needs.
