encrypted source code??

Hey, I was browsing through www.scriptlance.com for open projects. I found a post of a webmaster asking for someone to help encrypt their php files so that they could distribute their program without allowing others to see the source code. They also asked for it to not require any external files. Is this even possible? Thank you for you comments.

You would need to get some sort of program that will encrypt the code for you. I havn't used any program like this yet but a quick google search reviels several results. Also, I think Zend has the top product for this but is quite $$.
