Image Preview/Add??

Hi,

Ok I'm setting up a content management system and at the moment users can add pictures to categories and add news.

I have two tables, PICTURES and NEWS.

Now I want to give the user the ability to search through the images and then select one to be used for the news item.

At the moment I have a drop down menu that selects all the results from PICTURES table, but I don't know how the user can get a preview depending on what is selected in the drop down.

Any idea on how to pass the information from one page, to another? So I can have the images all displaying and then they click on the one they want and it takes them back to the form they have started to fill out?
