Alternitive To Frames

I am searching for a alternative to frames because everyone says that they are evil and they have many disadvantages. :eek:

I have also heard that you can use PHP as a alternitve.

I am looking for a alternitive that will be able to keep the menu fixed, so it will not dissappear off the page when you scroll down to the bottom of the page. This is a bit hard to explain, so tell me if I don't make sense 😃

Does anybody know of any good alternative's to frames?

PHP can't do that for you. Javascript is the alternative.

As LordShryku says, javascript (DHTML) is the answer. Try out

www.dynamicdrive.com who have loads of good scripts in this area.

For example, I sometimes use a jump to top button script that stays in the bottom right corner of the screen.

I have seen a menu script that is vertical and floats down as you scroll down.

However. Seriously re-think your page if it is so long. Users are put off sites with long pages, as they are too content heavy. Split the page up to more than one page.

Another thought is simply to have the menu top and bottom.
