International fuel prices

I'm having a bit of a debate right now, and I was wondering - this being a fairly international gathering - if you'd be able to assist me with a bit of a straw poll.

Here's the question: how much does petrol (gasoline) cost in your area? 96 octane if you've got it; if not, whatever rating is typical for fuelling cars. If there's variability from one company to the next, an average would do. Basically (if you are someone who has reason to buy petrol) what you'd be expecting to fork out if you went out today to get some.

If it's not too much trouble, answers units of US dollars/US gallon would be appreciated (I can convert specified volumes without too much trouble, but converting a bunch of foreign currencies at whatever today's rates are would be a bit more tiresome).

Oh, and knowing what "your area" in the second paragraph above refers to would be useful as well - no point having colour-coded pins if you don't know where to stick them....

96 octane? highest here is 94...
but 89 right now is 78.9 cents CND/litre (in North Van)

It varies but at the moment, standard 95 Octane Petrol/Gasoline in the UK costs around a whacking

$US 1.46 / litre (around 80p / litre)

$US 5.47 / gallon (around £3 / gallon)

I think that is right - £1 - > $1.82
1 US Gallon - > 3.75 Litres

Oh how do we love the tax man ;-)

I payed $1.85USD/gallon for 93 the other day, $1.89USD/gallon for 94 last time I hit Sunoco, and iirc, 100+ octane is well over $2USD/gallon.

2.80 USD/USGal for 91 and 2.96 USD/USGal for 96 in Auckland.

So far we've only had one data point from Asia 🙁, but it looks like a pattern is starting to form.

and 96 octane around here is aviation fuel, I think ... 😃 😃

If I knew that octane ratings varied that much I'd've asked for those as well.

There are two grades here: 91 and 96; I gave the 96 price, the other is about 5-6 cents (NZ) cheaper.

I could pick up 120 octane avgas down at the local aerodrome, but I'm not the one in the family who goes out racing.

I might be mistaken,

but the liter price here in the Netherlands is about 1.20 euro

and 1 euro = 1.24 US dollars, and a gallon is 3.78 liters.

so (3.781.20)1.24=5.63 US Dollars for a gallon

It's late, i'm pretty tired, so if i made a mistake, don't hit me on t he head!
