Jobs pay per hour/project dont you think.
Someone offering volunteer work is a whole lot different then offering a job position.

Because I make a well worded post you automatically assume it to be a job post. People post seeking help, ideas ect on this forum every single day. So perhaps a better understanding of the english language would help a person to realise that this post is no different then any other, other then being well worded, and to the point. If you have no interest in my post and it is not "to your liking" then move on to another.

Id love to view these posting rules, however after doing a full site search on "posting rules" I am directed back to my own post. A link to the posting rules would be great.

However I still strongly stand that my post in is no way a "Job Post". This post was made to look for voluteers that may be interested in working on a project. Same thing thats posted in these forums everyday all day long.

exactly T-Tech, why would you go to a project that has not started yet, I would of thought this is obvious as you are looking for people! I suppose it is too late to add the word volunteers in somewhere isn't it?

Well, basically it is the spirit of the rules.

I personally would not moderate you but merely advise you to alter your wording to appear less like a job posting.

But I'm not a moderator here, and whether they would choose the same actions is another matter.

Only piece of reading material I can find within this site in regards to all this is the forum FAQ where I have found this:

Ok that being said, do we all understand the definition of job?

Ok that being said, seriously I do not see the problem or why my post is being singled out. I simply made a post about a project I am working on and asked if anyone would like to volunteer.

your post is in no way being singled out. we usually have this sort of discussion of a post like your (all too frequent) before it gets modded. now in my personal opinion (and from past experience) i think this will get modded. you never said the project would be for free at first. and so it wasn't very "well worded" now was it?:rolleyes:

Do you see a per hour rate in there anywhere? A dollar amount or something? I think not.

There are no moderators visibly online, so yeah.

In any case, I'm not too clear if the restriction on job postings applies to paid jobs or to other forms of project collaborations as well, e.g. for an open source software project.
The restriction is imposed not by phpbuilder.com, but by the company hosting it, or something to that effect.

I mean honestly, this forum is based on project announcements, help requests and ideas.

For someone who points out how well-worded he is in every post he makes, I'd think the ability to say whether this was volunteer or not would be in his post. Considering you make no mention to if the person would be getting paid in your original post, my first assumtion would be to mod your post. If you look at the history of this board, you'll see many threads for some sort of "Developer Wanted", and they have all been modded. If this was a volunteer project, you could have looked up a thread or two in this forum and seen a specific thread for project announcments. So hey, if you want volunteers to help on a project, SAY THAT

There is absolutly NO mention of any dollar amount to be made.

yes, links to external sites are posted on a regular basis, but only in response to requests, or for fun.
