Help with background image

I need to know how to set a picture as a background so it cant be highlighted. I know the <body background="image.jpg"> code but i dont want the image to cover the whole screen, i just want it to be 1 image centerd in the middle off the screen that cant be highlighted. can someone please help you can obviously tell i am newer than a newbie...
