Qustion about regsiter globals

Have php running on machine great. Just out of curiosity i looked at phpinfo() on this server and saw this:

register_globals Off for local value

and

register_globals On for master value

I want them on totally.

What dos this mean and how can I correct it.

Is this on a web server, or a local machine. If on a web server, are you the admin? If you aren't the admin and it is a web server, you can't change the settings unless the admin will do it for you.

Expect them to say no for security reasons. Other than lazy coding, there is no reason to have register_globals on, and lots of reasons to have it switched off.

Yes it is on a webserver and I am the Admin

Just never seen the values different.

php.ini sets master values

apache's httpd.conf sets local values, so it is set in there. This file can always override the php.ini file
