Need help with Deleting cookies in a database

i'm creating an e-commerce website, and i need help with deleting cookies from a database. right now i can delete each item from the database, but i would like to delete everything from the shopping cart database so that when a user logs out or goes back to the shopping cart page, there is no products to show on that shopping cart page

can anyone help me figure out how to do this, i have the code if anyone wants to check it out so they can help me??
i also have the website address to the application that i am working on if anyone wants to check that out also.

Add new a field to your database table, and call it 'checked_out' or something. Then just do this:

mysql_query("DELETE * FROM cart WHERE checked_out = 'true' && username = '$username'");

Just so you know I have no idea if that would work..I don't know if you can use && in queries..I kind of guessed...You can try it though.
