mysql problem????

I had done a guestbook...
When my friends who using chinese words, the record will come out not properly... eg: "&#23398&#35874"
When using english it is working perfectly, so can anyone teach me how to solve this problem??

p/s: using Chinese Big5 will not getting this problem, it is only error on Chinese Simplified.

Anytime I have to work with Unicode / non-8 bit character sets I use Postgresql, which seems to have better support for them than MySQL does.

It might be the only way to do it is to encode them ahead of time in base-64 or something and store them that way.
