predicitve text

Does anyone know if it is possible to have predicitve text using php/any other language?

If for example i had a field (on a form) in which i was inputting the names of counties is there anyway of making it so that as i typed in the 1st few letters the right county would appear?

Im just thinking that if you have alot of info to enter it could be quicker than having something like a select option.
