file size changed when uploaded

hi.

i made a script that helps me upload files (jpg, gif, pdf, mp3, etc) to a web site where other people can view them.

it used to work fine but recently i upgraded php from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2, and whenever i upload a file it somehow gets corrupted (its size increments) and it can't be viewed anymore.

i checked my php.ini these are the parameters i believed have to do with this problem but i can see anythig wrong:

post_max_size = 8M
file_uploads = On
upload_max_filesize = 20M

please, can somebody help me?

my guess is that you're echoing out a line return or something stupid like that at the end of the file. If you posted code I may be able to help.

what i do and used to work fine before is what follows:

isn`t there a chance that there something wrong in my php.ini?

Nothing wrong with your ini file. Try using the recommended function:
