transfer http to link

I have this function to transfer text that starts with either ftp or http to a link..
but how can I edit it, so i aviod it to transfer if its "..src="..." before the http/ftp ??

I have this function to transfer http/ftp text to link, but i want to avoid transfering image link

If you mean you do want it to find URLs that are in src= attributes, you'd change the <a to something with that attribute (<img, e.g.), and then replace "href=" with "src=". Of course, that will only work if the src= is the very first attribute in the tag....

If you don't, then don't change anything.

well, the link replacement function i have, overrides the img transfer function.. which goes like:

$text = preg_replace("/[IMG](.*)[\/IMG]/", "<img src=\"\1\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" style=\"display:block;\">", $text);

.. I need some adjustments, so that the http/ftp link transfer dont screw up my image transfer function
