Trim / Filter a file content

To trim a file to the content I want I am using this at the shell terminal:
awk '{ print $3 " " $4 " " $5 " " $6 " " $7 " " $8 " "
$9 " " $10}' sampleoutput2.txt > testtrim.txt
on a redhat machine. It works OK.

What I would like is to be able to do this by just a click on a php page.

How can I do this?
What functions are available?
Pls provide an example.

Are you just grabbing lines and space seperating them? Could use [man]file[/man]....

Say the file has:
202.185.109.169:3421 - Windows 2000 SP2+, XP SP1 (seldom 98 4.10.2222) //line 1, all on one line
-> 202.185.109.163:139 (distance 0, link: ethernet/modem) //line 2, all on one line
202.185.109.165:34422 - Linux 2.4/2.6 (up: 1 hrs) //line 3, all on one line
-> 216.136.172.233:80 (distance 0, link: ethernet/modem) //line 4, all on one line

Now I would like to trim it to:
Windows 2000 SP2+, XP SP1 (seldom 98 4.10.2222)
(distance 0, link: ethernet/modem)

Linux 2.4/2.6 (up: 1 hrs)

(distance 0, link: ethernet/modem)

Windows 2000 SP2+, XP SP1 (seldom 98 4.10.2222)
because I have a page that reads the odd lines of the trimmed file and displays, thus only displays the OS result

Or is there a better way, using file, extract the OS type only, but how? Pls provide an example. THanks
