help on option selection

hello. i am a novice in web development and would like to know the feasiblity of developing a web page using dreamweaver,PHP and MS SQL Server viz a viz developing one that uses MySql instead of MS SQL Server.I would also like to know which option would be better:developing the above under windows or Linux?
Your assistance and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I'd say use MySQL (faster and more secure than M$ SQL) Linux over Winblows, because, well, Win Blows! 😉 The LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) setup is a very powerfull web development envireonment.

also, LAMP software is all free, less prone to virus problems and more portable.

Plus, open source stuff is cooler 😉

Do not get too tied to using dreamweaver. While it can make developing website so easy that a child can do it, you often end up w/a childish looking website. I am not bashing dw, I use it myself. Just do not get too hooked on design view.....
