mail() header parameter trouble

Hello,
I am using mail() to send an email to a user once they register, and in the header for some reason when I put an email longer then 20 characters in "From: ", it totally ignores it and doesnt send it. When I change the From: address to 20 or less characters it sends it. Is this a known problem? What am I doing wrong? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

well, i'm not sure about the max. length of the header, but i guess it would not be such a bad idea if you tell us what box you're using and what type of mail system is on that box.
