PHP, web statistics script always asking for authentication?? plz help

hey peeps,

i have a problem with this little php script i setup for web statistics called MnM stats i got from hotscripts.com , now i get the script setup and working , but when i goto the stats index.php page to get the latest statistics it always asks for authentication, THEN also when i put in the call to the stats js file in the say default.html page it also then asks for authentication, although first when i installed the script it didn't ask that, but after the first time i accessed the stats page it started asking for this , if i don't put in the login password which is my computer admin account i get this 401 error, something about acl (access control lists) i checked the permissions on the stats folder and inhertitence and i have iuser_webserver with the read and execute, and have tried full control for debugging purposes, anybody with any ideas on what the problem is, im using IIS with php 4.3.4, and mysql.

have you tried removing it and installing again, also follow the manual to the letter (I don't know whether you have). I can't be more helpful becase I don't have access to a PHP box at the moment.

the only thing i done maybe a bit different was i created the database and tables manually but it says in the install.txt file i can do that, i just took what was in the .sql file and entered everything in mysql control center, all rows were inputted with no problems, i'll try it again, but would this be possibly something to do with IIS and not the script itself??
