Link of form to send to email address

I'm very new to this so please bear with me. I'm using dreamweaver and trying to get a form that I created to go to an email address when the user hits the submit button. I have followed the instructions with dreamweaver, purchased the bible for dreamweaver and still have not been able to figure this out.

Dreamweaver asks for "action" and this is where I am to put the code that sends the completed form to the email address that I specify, but I have tried [url]http://[e-mail],[/url] [e-mail] it seems that no combination that I have come up with for this works.

Can anyone give me some help here?

The link to email a direction is this way:
<a href="mailto:[e-mail]">Click here to emai me

You can use something like this in your form action
action="mailto:[e-mail]"

The user must have their browser set up to send email for this to work and it also throws up warning messages to the user. You are better off submitting your form to another php page that will send the email. You can find a script that has already been written to do this at www.hotscripts.com.
