php variables with meta tags

I am taking my html meta tags and replacing them with php variables so I can put all my meta tags in one file instead of having multiple pages with the same exact info.

Does anyone have any input on how this will affect the search engines that still use meta tags. I know certain characters will cause search engines to ignore information such as the "?" in the links (ex: <a href='link.html?info"...) but does this have any affect on straight php variables.

Any info on this would be very helpful. Thanks for your time.

The SE will not see the php source, just the output, so it should be transparent to the bot that the meta tags are coming from an include.

However, you might consider that the SEs are not going to like the exact same meta tags on each page. For better placement you want the meta tags to represent the specific content of each page.

OK, thanks for the info. I didn't even think about the saparate pages. If the SE see same info on all the pages, will it ignore the pages?
