Generate Unique Document number

I have a form, that my users complete, (a contract). When they submit the form, it generates a Printable document with all of the form data put in the correct place.

BUT, there is one thing that I want to do and that is, place an "authentication" code or something like that into the document.

Is there a way to generate a random number to track the document?

Do you want a random number or do you want a sequential number?

Either is easy to accomplish:

Random number:

Basicly, I want to simply generate a number, so that I can compare the number on the "physical" printed document to the emailed submission.

It's simply a security feature I was working on. This way I have the persons information, can start working on the things that need to be worked on, then validate their submission with the number.
