Building an upgrade script.

I know this is a dumb ? coming from a nb but how hard is it to build a upgrade script,

I have both install scripts and have been looking them over but am a dumbie and don't know where to start,

Is there a good program to use to help in making one.

I use compare to look them over,

Well the difference between an install and an upgrade script is that an upgrade only replaces some of the files. So take your install script make it get the list of things to install from an external text file and then you've got an upgrade script.
