htaccess

ive searched this forum and various other places and cant seem to get it to work

basically i want to block everyone from downloading anything unless they have come from domain.com

i cant use the rewrite thing because thats for blocking certain sites?

i tried doing

order allow,deny
deny from all
allow from .mydomain.com

didn't work either any suggestions.?

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^{[url]http:///url?mydomain.com/.*$} [NC]
RewriteRule .(mp3|ogg|mpg|zip|rar|exe)$ - [F]

only allows downloads from people coming from mydomain.com
