Okay, after about 7 months of successful use, all of a sudden, mail() is failing with this message:
Warning: Could not execute mail delivery program

I have checked with the server owner, and he has not changed the mail settings or the port settings. Do you have any other suggestions of things to check on the problem? thank you.

perhaps the mail server is overloaded...if you are exclusively using this server, then see what the load is like and take it from there

test your script on another server

This is the message I got from the server owner, and no, I am not the only person on the server.

however, i do seem to have problems with mail server an been trying for the past week to get it back

Also, the very odd part is that it occationally works, but only when their is almost no users logged on...

As additional information, this is a Legend of the Green Dragon PHP game, running MySql. It was working fine on the whole server until about 1/21/04, and then the mail sudden stopped sending. We are just using the mail() function, from version 4.something.something
