Detecting Mobile Devices

I've had a search in the forums, but no-one seems to have asked this question before.

I know how to find out the user's platform they are using to access a page, and if I try to access a page on the web using a Sony Ericsson phone, it will appear as "SonyEricsson" in the log.

But how can I detect if it is ANY wap mobile browser, rather than a particular make? (and then re-direct if it is a mobile device or continue loading the page if it's a web browser)

I've never ventured into mobile sites/wml before, so I apologize if there's a really obvious answer!!

no worries, it's a simple version of something we use at dmwp.co.uk if it's a normal surfer we send them to our main ringtones site, if it's a wap surfer we present them with a wap site for tones n stuff.

i know the guy behind this site which might be handy for you if you're going down the wap and wml route. waptutor.org.uk
