Float Troubles

I am doing a cricket site i have to prepare a statistics report , if i add 5.5 and 1.5 overs i have to get total overs ad 7.4 overs i add the decimals seperatly and then convert it to the final overs when i add the decimals separate i get a value 6.10 when i am trying to process it php takes it as 6.1 i don't want that to happen

how can i preserve that value now

Um, what do you need? 7.4, 6.1 or 6.10?

I think I understand what you mean. Treat the numbers as seperate, until you have to display them. That way, you can keep them in forms PHP is quite happy to use, and you only have to worry about formatting and spitting them out when you're done.
