[Resolved] what is the equivalent of html_entity_decode prior to PHP 4.3.0?

Hi guys, I'm running PHP 4.1.2 and I have some flash formatted text coming back that I would like to display in a plain text list. Right now I'm using htmlentities() and I get "<TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2"><P ALIG..." etc. How do I convert this to the text that is meant to be displayed? Its coming from a database call, by the way, and that is how its stored in the database so flash can just pull it and run.

Hmm...
I found this at php.net once, could it be what you're after?

function unhtmlentities($string) {
$trans_tbl = get_html_translation_table(HTML_ENTITIES);
$trans_tbl = array_flip($trans_tbl);
return strtr($string, $trans_tbl);
}

I'll give that a try. Basicaly, I have this in the database:

<TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2"><P ALIGN="LEFT"><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE="12" COLOR="#000000">once more with feeling</FONT></P></TEXTFORMAT>

It works great when I pull it into Flash, but I just want to display the "once more with feeling" in a list for reference.

turns out strip_tags() does the job.
