Creating a Login page?

Ok...I got an admin page, that I wanna protect with a password.

Ive been trying loads of scripts, cant get it working!

What I want is to have a password text box, then submit it, then confirm it, then display the reast of my code in the page....but everytime I put a script for password requests in, all that happens is the text box for a password appears above my admin page, and doesnt ask for it before the admin page can be displayed....understand?
