Hi All,
I was wondering if someone could advise me in the right direction.
We currently have what I presume to be a default install of PHP under RedHat 7.1. This is version 4.0.4 with no mysql support.
My dilemma is that I would like to use v4.0.6 for compatibility reasons i.e. proper use of register globals etc and also to install this with mysql support enabled so that I can access mysql.
I am a Linux newbie apart from basic shell syntax for getting around the OS. Talk of RPMs and make, configure etc are alien to me. Can someone point me in the right direction either here or another online resource that can help me.
I have downloaded the latest RPMs of the RedHat web site.
php-4.0.6-14.i386.rpm
php-imap-4.0.6-14.i386.rpm
php-ldap-4.0.6-14.i386.rpm
php-manual-4.0.6-14.i386.rpm
php-mysql-4.0.6-14.i386.rpm
php-odbc-4.0.6-14.i386.rpm
php-pgsql-4.0.6-14.i386.rpm
When attempting to install I get a warning about dependencies for the version of PHP that is already installed i.e. 4.0.4
Has anyone got the 4.3 branch of PHP running under RedHat 7.1? 4.0.6 is very out of date these days.
