Email Problem!!!

Hi there,
When I submit my form it should be sent to an email address. Unfortunately this does not work.
What I get is...

Warning: mail(): "sendmail_from" not set in php.ini or custom "From:" header missing in c:\program files\apache group\apache\htdocs\newsite\thanks.php on line 224

Please, please could you tell me how to remedy the problem!!
Here is some of my code...

$fromaddress=$email; # $email is form variable

mail($toaddress, $subject, $mailcontent, $fromaddress);

You need From: $email at the end to specify, or else check that the sendmail_from var is set in the PHP.ini file...

No. I tried that. No success. Any more suggestiond?? I really need to get this working!!

I have never sent a mail that way - I always include the full set of headers...

Try putting

$headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0\r\n"; 
$headers .= "Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1\r\n"; 
$headers .= "From: ".$myname." <".$myemail.">\r\n"; 
$headers .= "To: ".$contactemail."\r\n"; 
$headers .= "Reply-To: ".$myname." <".$myemail.">\r\n"; 
$headers .= "X-Priority: 1\r\n"; 
$headers .= "X-MSMail-Priority: High\r\n"; 
$headers .= "X-Mailer: PHP Mailer"; 

And using that instead of just the $fromemail...
