[Resolved] javascript / php prob

I am trying to submit a form via a link, write the variables to the session and THEN pass it to another page. I found a little bit of JavaScript that works to submit the form via a simple link instead of a form button, but I don't know how to pass a 'variable' in the same link so I can use the PHP header command to take it to the appropriate page. Here's what I thought would work:

<a href=" javascript:document.addressform.submit();" onClick="goto=order_items.php"">Order</a>

Any ideas?

Try

<a href="javascript:document.addressform.submit();"
onClick="goto=order_items.php">Order</a>

Fixed 2 little syntax errors there, should do it, if the java is set up properly, what I can not see from here.

I'm trying a couple other different things now:

<a href="javascript:document.addressform.submit('$goto=order_items');">Order</a>

and

<a href="javascript:document.addressform.submit('goto=order_items');">Order</a>

Both of these work in the respect that they don't give me any JavaScript errors, but when I come back to the page and try to do print $goto, it has no value.

Any thoughts?

Set the target page in the form's action:

<form name="frm" action="order_items.php">

Then, the link is just as follows:

<a href="javascript:document.frm.submit();">Order</a>

I'm not being rude here, just trying to offer some advice. If you're writing web applications, you should get basic forms under your belt. They're integral to how the majority of PHP applications interface with people, and without them you're going to find yourself stuck quite frequently. There are plenty of websites about forms, and lots of places to ask if you get stuck.
