File Names with [[]] in them

Hi All

Can anyone please explain file names that have the symbols [] in them such as picture[[1]].jpeg and picture [[[1]]].jpg and where can I get some official info on it

I've never seen file names with multiple square brackets. However, could it be that these files are part of an array, where pic[0].jpg is the first member of the array and pic[n].jpg is the last member of the array?

Where do the files come from?

I will check on the double brackets again
I am getting in the Temporary Internet folder files such as

Picture[1].jpeg
Picture[2].jpeg
Picture[3].jpeg

It seems that an image is being loaded into the TIF from the internet and, as you say, an array is being generated

however I thought that a file with the name Picture.jpeg would just overwrite the existing one if there was one in the TIF and not create an array.
Do you know what the criteria would be for it start an array as opposed to just overwritting the Picture.jpeg image that is already there

Hi Ken

If these pictures are loading into your net cache, it just means that that is the way the website developer has coded the site, such that the pics are part of an array. When you look at them on screen, they are already hard-coded as picture[1].jpg etc, so they are not all the same picture.

I wasnt sure how this could be achieved and I thought that you PHP gurus would know if this was a common way (using PHP) of labelling (if thats the right word) files which have the same name but are not necessarily the same image
