[Resolved] "Ghosting" Linux

Well, I've built my Red Hat 8 Linux server with PHP, GD and MySQL and very pleased with myself I am too. However, the server has a 5 year old hard drive which I do not trust and I would like to back up the whole configuration to my XP kit. The Linux and XP kits are networked with SAMBA so I can transfer files between the two.

What do you guys recommend that I use to create a "ghost" image of my server that I can store on my XP kit?

Norton/Symantec Ghost? When I last used it (about 2001) the latest version then allowed the ghosting of linux partitions, so I should think that the latest version does.

I've got Ghost 2003 but I didn't realise that I could use it with Linux. I will have to look into that. Ta.

Yes, that worked. I created two peer-to-peer Ghost boot disks, booted both PCs into Ghost and then created a disk image of the Linux kit which was stored on my XP kit. Nice to have a backup like that. 😃
