Text Color Problems

In php, how would you make the text different colors?

ive tried using a stylesheet with color changers, then coding php to say:
....
print("<bdo id="red">");
print("My email adress is $email");
print("</bdo>");
?>

It keeps on saying there is an error, or doesnt change the color. what should i do?

Your error is here:
print("<bdo id="red">");
You need to add slashes if you're going to print the quotes...

print("<bdo id=\"red\">");
