reliable, but cheap webhosting packages?

Well, after two years of great service with xidus.net, I have somewhat outgrown their generous offer (at 5 USD / month, any low-medium site it's the best for your buck -- i have brought over 30 people I know to xidus.net)

..I am looking for about 2 gigs of hard drive (1 gig hard limit, 2 soft, would be okay), minimum 30 gig data transfer / mo, along with php/mysql. 90% of the storage would be in mysql, if that mattered. I also have about 5-7 domains needing to be set up plus a few subdomains.

Has anyone come across a webhosting company offering this for under $20 / month?

EDIT: I just noticed an add out of the corner of my eye on this page for www.canaca.com -- it looks almost "too good to be true" -- has anyone had any negative experiences with this company??

when you do a 'who' on the server, how many people do you typically see online at a time? or an 'ls /home' how many directories are in there for the server you are on?? i'm worried about saturation mainly...

I've been with Rochen for two years. Their prices are good (multiple domain hosting, bonus). But what is even better is true 24/7 tech support. Most trouble tickets I've dropped were resolved in less than 15 minutes.

Go on eBay and look up web hosting. Find one that you can use "Buy it Now" to get for 60 cents. your total cost will be $10.20. The only problem you'll run into is that it's only 750 MB, but it's what I use and I get by ok, check it out: stupid5pin.com.

I am going to try one through ebay for a month and I will post my results.

i use www.clook.net for mine

they do a 1000MB package with 20GB transfers for £12.99pm, which is about $17 i think. The service has been first rate - immediate replies and very personal, but i think they may have halted new accounts for a week or so while they migrate servers.

the servers i've mentioned earlier get back to you really fast when you e-mail them for support. I'm definatley going to be sticking with them for the entire life of stupid5pin.com

their rollovers dont link in firefox. i wouldn't trust them with anything.
