I would like to change the subject of my post in the "Install" forum to:
"Reconfiguring PHP rpm install on RH9 ? "
i tried to do it with the edit and it doesn't show up in the threaded view..
is there anything you can do?
Try PM'ing that forum's moderators. They can do that thing.
Can you post a screenshot of when you try to edit it? I've always had the choice to change this...

The thing is it lets me edit it but just doesn't update the thread list.
in the install forum the subject of my thread is different between the index and when you click on the thread..

I figure rheo's talking about the title of the thread, not the title of the post; editing the former (which defaults to the same as the title of the initial post) is a moderator-level operation.
