How to connect a remote MS ACCESS database using PHP command?

I'm using odbc_connect() function but fail to connect, unless the database is in the same server where php file is located.

Just make sure you have a DSN created for the remote database. Should be able to connect through that...

some how odbc_connect can't connect to remote database.

from PHP manual, odbc_exec() is not applicable on remote database. Any alternative solution other than switching to ASP?

Actually, I've been researching the same subject. There's a way to use a DSN-less connection, but I'm not sure if it would work on a remote server. I couldn't even get it to work on the same server (but that's not saying much). I found this article on the subject:

I'm still trying to decide if that's the way our company needs to go, or if we should just go ahead and convert the db to MySQL and just keep the MS Access front end reports we've already developed.

I'm interested to find out if you've had any luck.

Hey, i also share your problem , i tried to connect a VFP database on remote server, but it always return the follwoing error:

Warning: odbc_connect(): SQL error: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified, SQL state IM002 in SQLConnect in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\tri\adodb\drivers\adodb-odbc.inc.php on line

This is difficult thing to do, I tried ADODB, ODBC and other DSN-less connection, but return error.

Wish u guys can share experience with me.
