Import MySQL data into MS Outlook

I need help or perhaps just pointed in the right direction. I need to be able to 'sync' data from a MySQL database automatically into Microsoft Outlook. I think this could be accomplished by API or an ODBC but have no idea where to start with this. I use PHP and MySQL quite a bit and am familiar with both.
