Look in text

I have a string of data like this
'Text 12 SomeText texttwo 101 moretext'.
I would like to be able to just read the number 101, and ignore the rest of the text. How can I get it to read only whats between texttwo and moretext?

I looked through them and still don't understand what to do. My problem is that I would like to look for the browser version of Opera, however it varies where it is in the browser code from version to version. In version 3 it looks like this

mozilla/3.0 (windows 3.95;us) opera 3.62 [en]

But in version 5 + it looks like

opera/7.23 (windows nt 5.1; u) [en]

So I would like to look for the browser version AFTER the word Opera. Can anyone help me?

Using stripos, you can find the first occurance of the word 'opera'. You should probably make the string all lower case before that too... Then, you know the word opera is 5 characters long, so add 5 to that number you got from stripos. Use substr to get whatever is after the word opera, for instance, $after_opera = substr ($original_string, $position_of_word_opera);

I'll let you try that first, that should be a damn good start...

Though the actual stripos is PHP 5 CVS, there is an manual function for it on it's manual page

Ok, but that still has the problem of only working for one browser, because the word 'opera' appears in different places.

...when it appears at all, strpos (or stripos) will tell you where it appears. That's what they're for. Reread the manual.

Ok. i've done that bit. But I just want the number, so I now have a couple of problems. First, I'm not completley sure how I get it to display whatever is AFTER the strtpos (because otherwise you get the word 'opera') and also I have another problem with the different versions.

Version 3

In this version there is a space between opera and the version number

Version 7

Here there is a /. Is there a way to get it to ignore spaces and / ?????

I solved this problem with this (php4)

Just do something like

$word="Mac";
if (detect_browser($word)) echo "Your Computer is a Mac" ;
