ereg Help

well i'm trying to restrict a username to only use ASCII characters but can't figure out what exactly to do with the characters that preform actions in ereg 😕 I search through alot of stuff and still couldn't understand...

help would be nice ^_

By ASCII do you mean alpha or alpha-numeric? Because I believe it uses ASCII anyway.

When trying to do a complex ereg function recently, I found the documentation at http://www.php.net/ereg to be particularly helpful. I believe it explains how to escape special characters pretty well.
