mySQL Error: Too many connections

I get this about every other day from my hosting. They are being difficult with me yet I want to solve this issue. I use a LOT of connections throughout all my sites. But at every page at the end I put "mysql_close($db);" on every page that i have a mysql connection. So wouldnt that help not having too many connections opened? if not how can I prevent this? MAybe im not writing the code right or doing something wrong? since this site is about php and mysql im sure u guys will have a better answer for me and help out as you always do.

What is up iBuddy! Ok check this out. As long as you are having your code closing the connection after every connection then man there isn't much I can say besides talk to your Host and see if you are on a shared server. Have them look into who is having the most connections and see if it is you, if so then we will cross that bridge when we get there. Just call them up (they should be nice looking into that) and see. This happens a lot to my 20+ clients who are on shared servers. I try to have my own personal database server that I connect to for the bigger clients of mine. Just check into that and we will figure something out. Don't stress, it will work out.

consider to use persistent connections.. this way you do not have to close them, your web-server wont need to open and close it thousands of times and everything will be faster... serious...
