PHP files not taking input values

I am not sure if this is the right place to put this or not, but I just installed a new version of php (4.3.4), and php files are being parsed fine. But whenever I take input from a user, it returns to the same page. When I put text in the url (i.e. localhost/phpfile.php?a=b&c=d), it takes it fine. Anyone know why this would be happening?

Don't know without seeing your code. The most common problem when people upgrade is that they relied upon register_globals being on before, and PHP now comes default with it off.

Just wondering if you have found a solution yet.
I'm having the same problem with PHP-4.3.4.
I have tried turning global variables back on but this didn't solve my problem.

nope. I never got an answer to it. No one could figure it out. When on the php subscriber list, and no one knew there either. They think it might have something to do with my webserver.
I still have to get it working though. What webserver are you using?

are you using $GET['a'] or $GET['c'] for URL(get) variables and _POST for form(post) variables?

Yes, I finally figured out that I needed to change the variable references in the script that I am sending the variables to. Although I pass the variables as usual, I have to use $GET['variable'] or a $POST['variable'] in the 'receiving' script, depending on the action=GET or action=POST option in the form tag of the sending script.

I did see references to these variables in the documentation but it wasn't spelled out in enough detail for me...I need all the help I can get!

Well, GET is more commonly used in the URL rather than via a form, to stop a clash of variables... such as if you send via a form, 'var' = true to index.php?var=false... whats the value of $GET['var']?
