Whats a good looked up certificate to get. Ive been told MCSE/MCSD which i know is MS but to get a job you should be able to work with the OS and languages associated.

Are there any better looked up to like Sun Certificate.

It depends what you want to do and what environment you want to work in

If you want to work in a windows environment then there is nothing better then the MS certs

If you want to work in *nix environment as a sys admin then sun is the way to go.

If you want to work in *nix as a programmer then Java, PHP and MySQL certs are all good to get

For DB certs, Oracle certification would be a good route to go as well.

yes i see what you mean. i would like to work in Nix* environments however the market isnt there, which leads me straight back unfortunately to MS. Which gets me all confused. Maybe ill just end up having a too many certificates

a majority of internet servers are linux running appache or unix running appache

And a lot of companies look for Unix admins....

Yes a lot of companies do, but where i live nix is probably only known by 5% of the population more than likely less than that. I can probably count on one hand the companies that use nix. Good Companies that id be interested in anyway (the ones that arent bankrupt or close to it).

didnt think anyone would point that mistake out. havent had much sleep and that shows.

if you read my location it tells you, but more precise Sydney. Ive actually gone around and at least 99% work in the city and around want Windows or MS products its like *nix (there we go done it right just for you drawmack) doesnt exist.
