hi! i'm new both to php and this forum. is it possible to update using a href. i meant when we click at the link, it will instantly update the data and back to the same page. i sound confusing . let see, for example, i use a link entitle 'check' on a cell and when i click on it it will instantly update into the db (just for a data, like budg_check from table pre_post_recr, just update budg_check). and then after updated, the page will return the previous form. is this possible?

Yes. After you write your script, after the database queries add:

header("Location: where.php");

the header function is just like a redirect pretty much. It will send the user to the age specified. So you can run your SQL then redirect, or redirect then run SQl queries.
