what i need to do in order to activate the oracle functions in a linux machine?

The oracle client installed and the enviroment variables set. It explains this in the manual

where could i find the client for a redhad linux box?
I searched the otn.oracle.com but nothing.

i can see no client for unix

The client is on the database CD's. Click the link marked "Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard Edition for Linux/IA64, Release 2 (v9.2.0.2)", and download those ISO's

Now a very critical question is about connection speed between a client (webserver) and the database server.

What have you done about this delay?

Any good trick?
