I've just undertaken the task of overhauling a website for a friend. It currently has a working forum, image upload/browse, and some basic site admin stuff - all done in php. I'm trying to install a php chat room in a new folder, but every time I try to access a page that has a ?str=mystr (or whatever), I get a 404 Page Not Found error!
For example, I've followed the chat's installation process and I'm at the point where it wants me to go to chat/install.php and then follow the steps from there. Install.php loads and works fine, but when I click on the "step 2" link, install.php?step=2 gives a 404 error! I know this isn't just an issue with this specfic chat program as I've tried a few other things with identical results. The thing that has me really confused is that the existing sections of the site have no issue with ?blah=blah or any other php - everything else seems to work fine...
Any ideas?
