"!" in html email

I am trying to develop a php page that send users a html format email. Everything works fine now.

I have a link on the email. There is always us a ! in the hyperlink, therefore the user can't click to the link to go to that page. Here is code example:

$mailbody .= "<tr><td width=\"225\"><br><strong>Two ways to order:</strong><font size=\"-2\"><br>1. Print Form <a href=\"http://www.somewhere.com/order.html\">[url]http://www.somewhere.com/order.html[/url]</a>,<br>Fill-in &amp; Fax to: 800-888-8888<br>";

in the email that user receive, there is always an "!' here or there in the link "http://www.somewhere.com/order.html\">. If you try more times, the location of the ! changes a little, but always there.

This is the encoding described in RFC 1738 for protecting literal characters from being interpreted as special URL delimiters, and for protecting URL's from being mangled by transmission media with character conversions (like some email systems).
