opening a shared file

Is there any way in opening a shared file in a network?

I couldn't do it using fopen(). I couldnt figure out some ways in working around it. Even if i already mapped the drive.

Can you help me guys?

i found on working around it. I would execute some scripts and call it from php. i could be a shell script or a batch file.
